Uganda sends squad for Schwan's Cup in US

Youngsters from Edgar's Youth Program in Uganda on Thursday traveled to Minnesota, the United States, to take part in the 2015 Schwan's Cup.

Ronald Lwanga, the coordinator and one of the coaches told Xinhua before departure that they will be making a fourth appearance in this tournament which brings together teams from several countries.

He said players aged 6-17 will take part in the Schwan's USA Cup from July 10-23. The youngsters in the U-12 category of Edgar's Youth Program won the USA Cup in 2012. They also finished second in the in 2013 and 2014 editions.

"We shall be the only African team taking part in this tournament in the U-10 category. We are taking 11 players and 10 are already in the U.S.," said Lwanga, adding that another team will travel for the English Cup in Manchester, Britian between July 21-27.

The squad includes Nigel Toyota Kaguta, Talemwa Galukande, Perus Namulondo Cynthia, Katende Bahiira, Timothy Lwanga Hesron, Kidden King Lubowa, Akram Mukibi, Enock Ssemogerere, Jerome Nkugwa, Kol Deng and Jeremiah Watante. Endi
