Federer beats Simon to reach Wimbledon semifinals

Xinhua, July 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

Seven times champion Roger Federer eased past 12th seed Gilles Simon to reach the Wimbledon semifinals here on Wednesday.

Federer, 34, who has collected 17 Grand Slam titles, eased past the Frenchman 6-3, 7-5, 6-2 in just one hour and 35 minutes on Court One.

The match was interrupted by rain twice but the Swiss No. 2 seed always looked in control.

He will next face the winner of another quarterfinal match between 2013 champion Andy Murray of Britain and Canadian Vasek Pospisil, which is being played on Center Court. Endi
