United Airlines flights grounded nationwide due to computer glitch

Xinhua, July 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

All United Airlines flights were halted nationwide in the United States Wednesday morning over a computer glitch, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said.

"Automation issues" forced planes to be grounded at all airports across the country, the FAA's Air Traffic Control System Command Center said in a statement.

United Airlines is working to resolve the computer glitch in order to resume its electronic flight information system, company sources said, adding that apologies have been issued to customers for any inconvenience.

United is one of the world's largest airlines with nine hubs in the continental United States. Endi
