British royals to make return visit to New Zealand

Xinhua, July 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

The heir to the British throne and New Zealand's next head of state is to visit New Zealand in November, Prime Minister John Key announced Friday.

The Prince of Wales, Prince Charles, and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, last visited in November 2012 to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

"We agreed then that future visits should occur more regularly than in the past, to build on the close and special links between New Zealand and Their Royal Highnesses," Key said in a statement.

It will be the second Royal visit to New Zealand this year, following the visit of Charles' second son Prince Harry in May.

"I'm sure New Zealanders will be excited to hear that Their Royal Highnesses are returning, providing another opportunity to meet members of the Royal family here in New Zealand," said Key.

It would be the second joint visit for the royal couple to New Zealand.

Details of the program would be released later. Endi
