Qantas Airways' low-cost subsidiary Jetstar has caused air travel chaos in Australia on Friday, canceling flights to and from Indonesia because of a volcanic eruption.

Mount Ruang Volcano, 150 km away from Denpasar of Indonesia, erupted at 5:00 p.m. local time Thursday.

"Jetstar has this evening canceled a number of flights in and out of Bali as the ash cloud from the Mount Raung eruption in Indonesia drifts toward Denpasar International Airport," the airline said Thursday night. (Indonesia-Australia-Volcano)

WASHINGTON, July 2 (Xinhua) -- The International Monetary Fund ( IMF) said on Thursday that its staff has reached an agreement with the Ukrainian authorities on policies needed for the lender to disburse 1.7 billion U.S. dollars under a loan program.

The IMF said the agreement is subject to approval by IMF management and the executive board. (Ukraine-IMF)

BONN, Germany, July 2 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) completed its annual update of the List of World Heritage in Danger here on Thursday and added three sites in conflicted areas in Yemen and Iraq into the list.

UNESCO's World Heritage Committee, which started its 2015 annual meeting here on June 28, said all the three sites, the Old City of Sana'a and the Old Walled City of Shibam in Yemen and Hatra in Iraq, were listed as endangered due to damages or threat from the ongoing armed conflicts in the two countries. LAGOS, July 2 (Xinhua) -- The Nigerian government on Thursday alerted the people living in the country to be vigilant and embrace basic hygiene as Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) re-emerges in Liberia.
