Singapore's leaders extend condolence for Indonesian aircrash

Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Thursday wrote condolence letter to Indonesian President Joko Widodo following a military plane crash in Medan which killed over 100 people.

"I was saddened to hear of the tragic crash of the military plane in Medan on 30 June 2015," wrote Lee, "I extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to the families who lost their loved ones in this tragedy. Our heartfelt sympathies also go to those who were injured in this tragic accident."

Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean also expressed condolences in a letter to his Indonesian counterpart. Teo said he was "deeply saddened" to learn about the crash, and extended his deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who perished in the crash.

Singapore's Defense Minister Ng Eng Hen said the country's Ministry of Defense and the Singapore Armed Forces are ready to " render any assistance that would be useful in this very difficult time for Indonesia" in a letter to Indonesian Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu.
