Ukraine grain exports up 7.7 percent in 2014-2015 marketing year

Ukraine's grain exports rose 7.7 percent to 34.8 million tons in the 2014-2015 marketing year, the Agriculture Ministry said on Thursday.

In the previous marketing season, Ukraine shipped abroad 18.8 million tons of corn, 11.2 million tons of wheat, 4.5 million tons of barley and 300,000 tons of other cereals, the press service of the ministry said in a report.

When the current marketing year started on July 1, Ukraine's carry-over stocks were at 11 million tons of grain, the report said.

In the 2013-2014 marketing year, Ukraine's grain exports rose 42.1 percent year-on-year to 32.3 million tons.

In 2014, Ukrainian farmers reaped a total of 64 million tons of cereals, marking a record high. Endi
