Bayern signs Brazil midfielder Costa from Donetsk

Bayern Munich on Wednesday signed Brazil 24-year-old midfielder Douglas Costa from Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk on a 30-million-euro deal through June 2020.

After joining Donetsk from Gremio in January 2010, Costa scored 38 goals and helped the Ukrainian side collect five league and three cup titles. Costa was also part of the Brazilian national team at the Copa America.

"A dream has come true for me today," said Costa. "I'm proud to become a player for Bayern, following in the footsteps of so many magnificent Brazilian players."

"Douglas Costa will be good for our team," Bayern sporting director Matthias said. "He has great technical ability, a powerful left foot, he is very agile, and extremely quick." Endi
