Suspect arrested for death of Chinese student in Iowa

Chinese police, in cooperation with their U.S. counterparts, has arrested Li Xiangnan, who suspectedly killed her girlfriend surnamed Shao studying in an Iowa university, police said Tuesday.

The arrest of Li, a native of east China's Zhejiang Province, was ratified by the Wenzhou City People's Procuratorate on June 19. Li allegedly committed intentional murder.

He fled to China on September 7 last year after allegedly killing Shao and gave himself up to the Wenzhou police on May 13 this year.

The Iowa police received the report on September 17 that Shao was missing and found on September 26 that she was dead. The U.S. police then reported the case to their Chinese counterparts. Endi
