Dollar trades in mid-122 yen range in early Tokyo deals

The U.S. dollar traded in the mid- 122 yen range in early trading Monday, sharply higher from its levels in New York last Friday amid mounting fears over the Greece debt crisis.

At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 122.58-59 yen compared with 123.84-94 yen in New York and 123.76-77 yen in Tokyo late Friday afternoon.

The euro fetched 1.0977-0978 dollars and 134.55-56 yen against 1.1160-1170 dollars and 138.25-35 yen in New York and 1.1204-1205 dollars and 138.66-70 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Friday. Endi
