Xinhua, June 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

Myanmar National Airlines (MNA), the country's national flag carrier, is set to launch Yangon- Singapore route in July with a newly-leased Boeing 737-800 NGs out of six which the airlines has taken the delivery, sources with the airline said Saturday.

The MNA will add its flights to China's Hong Kong and Taipei by the end of August.

MNA will fly to four more destinations in the Asia-Pacific region with new airbuses beginning 2016.

Five other Boeing aircrafts of the same model each having 164 seats and worth 51 million U.S. dollars as well as four 737-Max 8 Next Generation aircrafts are to be received by 2018, according to earlier report .

The MNA has also ordered six ATRs to boost its domestic fleet which flies to 26 destinations.

As disclosed by MNA, it received more than 500,000 passengers in 2014, a 26 percent increase over the previous year.

MNA, renamed from state-run Myanmar Airways (MA) in December last year after corporatization has planned to lease these new model aircrafts from U.S.-based GE Capital Aviation Services.

MNA has planned to fly new destinations with new Boeing airplanes and also planned to give new services because of increased competition among airlines. Endi
