South Korea's finance ministry said Thursday that it would spend more than 15 trillion won (13.5 billion U.S. dollars) to stimulate the economy hit by the outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS).

NEW DELHI -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday slammed the country's main opposition Congress party to mark the 40th anniversary of the Emergency.

KATHMANDU -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said here on Thursday that China will offer 3 billion yuan (483 million U.S. dollars) in aid for Nepal's reconstruction after a massive earthquake jolted the Himalayan country on April 25.
Wang told the Chinese media based here that a comprehensive Chinese aid plan for Nepal covers five areas, namely unconditional
financial donations, loans for reconstruction projects, encouragement for Chinese enterprises and non-governmental groups to participate in Nepal's economic reconstruction, helping train professional and skilled personal and helping restore cultural heritage damaged by the quake.(Nepal-China-Donation)

WELLINGTON -- Environment activists ended a 10-hour standoff with police Thursday, during which they occupied the roof of New Zealand's Parliament building to protest the government's lack of action against climate change.
Radio New Zealand reported the day-long protest ended at about 5 p.m. local time when the four Greenpeace campaigners climbed down of their own accord.
