Singapore stocks close 0.74 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 24.65 points, or 0.74 percent, to close at 3,339.78.

A total of 1.05 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 916.8 million Singapore dollars (685.6 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 232 to 196, while 534 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 14.17 points, or 0.43 percent, to close at 3,315.13 on Monday. Endi
