Three Spanish mountaineers die in avalanche in Kyrgyzstan

Three Spanish climbers were killed in an avalanche in central Kyrgyzstan, informed Kyrgyz Emergency Ministry press service on Tuesday.

According to the ministry, a group of Spanish mountaineers last Sunday climbed on to the peak of Ak-Too Ak-Sai Glacier in Ala-Archa of Chui oblast, Kyrgyzstan, when an avalanche killed three members of the group.

"The bodies were taken to the morgue by helicopter on Monday," said the press release, adding that the Consulate of Spain in Kazakhstan has notified about the incident.

The Interior Ministry reported that Kyrgyz side already started the investigation about the death.
