2nd LD-Writethru: Chinese shares close higher on Tuesday

Xinhua, June 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese shares closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 2.19 percent to finish at 4,576.49 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 2.04 percent to close at 16,045.99 points.

Combined turnover for the two bourses came in 1.3 trillion yuan (212.42billion U.S. dollars).

Aviation and liquor stocks were the biggest winners. Avic Aircraft surged by the daily limit of 10 percent to close at 43.68 yuan. Kweichow Moutai climbed 7.2 percent to close at 252.25 yuan.

Zhang Xu, an analyst from China Southern Fund, attributed Tuesday's rebound to an easing of liquidity in the stock market as money locked for the new listings of stocks last week has gradually moved back.

He advised investors to focus more on sectors related to finance, real estate and blue chips, citing these industries as key to steadying economic growth.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, rose 2.38 percent to end at 3,393.94 points. Endi
