Hollywood film stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Joanaa Lumley will participate in the International Donors' Conference on Nepal's Reconstruction to be held here on Thursday.

Shankar Das Bairagi, officiating secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told Xinhua on Tuesday, "Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio and British film star Joanna Lumley have confirmed their participation in the conference."

The international conference is called by Nepal to gain financial assistance for the rebuilding process of the quake- ravaged country. Nepal needs 669.50 billion rupees (6.7 billion U. S. dollars) for the post-quake reconstruction, according to latest Post Disaster Needs Assessment Report.

More than 8,700 people were killed and hundreds of thousands left homeless by a 7.9-magnitude earthquakes, which jolted the Himalayan nation on April 25.

"It's a good news that former U.S. President Jimmy Carter is also participating in the conference," Secretary Bairagi said. These celebrities will visit the quake-damaged world heritage sites, including the Durbar squares, and some worst-hit districts.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said around 300 people will take part in the one-day conference at Hotel Soaltee on Thursday. Endi
