Nikkei closes at 15-year high on hopes for Greek debt deal

Tokyo stocks ended at a 15-year high Tuesday as hopes for Greek debt deal boosted market sentiment.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 381.23 points, or 1. 87 percent, from Monday at 20,809.42, the highest closing level since April 12, 2000.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 27.79 points, or 1.69 percent, higher at 1,676.40.

Gainers were led by air transport, metal products and other products.

The turnover was 2,852.17 billion yen (about 23.06 billion U.S. dollars). Endi
