12 Taliban captured in S. Afghanistan

Security forces during operations against insurgents in southern Afghan Helmand province with Lashkar Gah as its capital, 555 km south of Kabul, on Tuesday captured alive 12 militants, provincial police chief Nabi Jan Mullahkhil said.

"Acting upon intelligence report the security forces laid in ambush and captured 12 Taliban militants including their commander Shir Agha in Sangin district early today morning," Mullahkhil told Xinhua.

Taliban militants who are active in Helmand province haven't made comment. Endi
