Int'l community should view squarely on Myanmar's handling of "boat people" issue: Speaker

Xinhua, June 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

Myanmar parliament speaker U Shwe Mann on Wednesday urged the international community in his open letter to the UN Chief to view squarely on Myanmar's handling of " boat people" issue.

In his open letter to Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the UN, U Shwe Mann called on the United Nations to approach and settle the international community issue in a fair and square manner without being inclined to one side and to mover towards world security and stability including Myanmar.

He requested the UN to speak correctly on Myanmar when the country is building a democratic nation and undertaking reform.

He warned international organizations in and out of the country not to create misunderstanding and racial conflict concerning the current issues of human trafficking and "boat people". Endi
