U.S. senator optimistic about early conclusion of TPP

Although the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement still needs to be approved by the U.S. Representatives, the U.S. senator John McCain said he is optimistic that the TPP will soon be concluded.
McCain made the remark while meeting with Vietnam's National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung in capital Hanoi on Wednesday during his visit to Vietnam.
According to McCain, the early conclusion of TPP deal will create favorable conditions for economic, trade development among TPP members.
The visiting senator expressed his hope that the U.S., Vietnam as well as other participants will soon reach a consensus on TPP, which will contribute to boosting bilateral relations and practical benefits of people in each country, Vietnam's state-run news agency VNA quoted McCain as saying on Wednesday.
Hung, for his part, said over past time, Vietnam and the U.S. have gained remarkable achievements in investment, trade relations, thanks to positive contribution of two countries' parliamentarians, including McCain.
Hung expected that the U.S. congress will support and soon ratify the TPP, thus help promote economic, security and defense ties between the two countries.
On the same day, the visiting U.S. senator met with the Communist Party of Vietnam Secretary General Nguyen Phu Trong and Vietnamese Minister of Defense Phung Quang Thanh. Endi
