Ethiopia's ruling party EPRDF and its allies have won an landslide victory in parliament election in weekend, according to preliminary results announced by the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia on Wednesday.

The provisional count shows the EPRDF and its allies won more than 400 seats out of 547 seats in parliament.

The weekend's election was Ethiopia's first since the demise of Meles Zenawi, who died in office after 21 years in power. The ruling party was widely expected to win even before the election. Endi
