Tokyo stocks open lower on Wall St. losses, profit-taking

Xinhua, May 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower in early trading Wednesday after overnight falls on Wall Street and investor's profit-taking following Nikkei's eight-day winning streak through Tuesday.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 27.23 points, or 0.13 percent, from Tuesday to 20,410.25. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 2.37 points, or 0.14 percent, to 1,657.20.

Decliners were led by mining, financing business and securities issues. Endi
