The heat wave sweeping through many parts of India killed 90 more people on Monday, taking the toll in the heat wave to near 800, said officials on Tuesday.

All the people died of sunstroke and heat-related incidents. Most of the deaths were from the southern states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where 551 and 215 had died, respectively, till Monday. (India-Heat Wave-Death)

CLEVELAND -- Protesters marched through the streets of Downtown Cleveland, a city in the state of Ohio, Tuesday demanding the overhaul of the city's criminal justice system, which they said had so far failed to mete out punishment for white officers who used excessive and unnecessary force against the blacks.

"Police are supposed to protect us, but they are killing us for no justified reason, and the law allows them to do so without any punishment," a protester who did not want to reveal his name told Xinhua. (U.S.-Cleveland-Racial Issue)

ADEN, Yemen -- At least 23 people were killed Tuesday when tribal militia loyal to Yemeni President Abdu-Rabbu Mansour Hadi fought against the Shiite Houthi fighters in Yemen's southern provinces amid intensified airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition forces.

A senior military official told Xinhua that hundreds of tribal fighters launched an all-out offensive against Houthi gunmen in the southern province of al-Dhalea and regained control over the province after defeating the Houthis on the ground. (Yemen-Tribal fighters-Houthi)

CAIRO -- An Egyptian court on Tuesday sentenced nine extremists to death over charges of embracing extremist ideologies, targeting security forces and associating with the Islamic State (IS) militant group, official MENA news agency reported.

The Zagazig Criminal Court in the Sharqiya province, 65 km north of Cairo, convicted the nine defendants including renowned extremist Adel Habbara, in addition to charges of gun possession and explosives. (Egypt-Court-Terrorism) Endi
