Slovakia to spend 2.1 bln euros on construction projects in 2015

Xinhua, May 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

A record-breaking 2.1 billion euros (2.4 billion U.S. dollars) is to be earmarked for Slovakia's construction industry this year, confirmed transport minister Jan Pociatek here on Tuesday.

"This represents the highest figure ever," stressed Pociatek. The Ministry of Transport, Construction, and Regional Development is allotting public funds for as many as 260 projects currently under way.

The majority of the financing is to come from EU funds, with the ministry determined to spend all funds from the 'old' program period, Pociatek said.

"As long as the construction sector makes good on its pledges, and the deadlines for projects are adhered to, then every single euro from the Transport Operational Program will have been spent," said Pociatek. Endit
