Air Malta seeks various models of strategic partnership

Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat confirmed that the state-owned Air Malta is considering some form of strategic partnership with another airline, according to local report on Tuesday.

The local newspaper Sunday Times of Malta reported that regular meetings have been held between Air Malta and Turkish Airlines in seeking a strategic partnership, privatization might be included.

Muscat reiterated that Air Malta was considering all options.

He stressed that the Maltese government should retain control over Air Malta so as the airline would continue to be an important element in Malta's tourism industry. Endit
