Vietnam commemorates 125th birth anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh

A grand ceremony was held Monday in Vietnam's capital Hanoi to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh.
"Ho Chi Minh was a genius leader of Vietnamese party, people and revolutionary career, a hero of the national liberation, a world cultural figure. He brought fame to the nation, the people and the country. He was an exemplary international communist, a close friend of nations that had been fighting for peace, independence, democracy and social progress worldwide," General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong said in his remark at the ceremony.
"Under the leadership of Ho Chi Minh and the CPV, Vietnamese revolutionary career surmounted difficulties and challenges and went through one victory to another," Trong said.
The current direction of party building and reorganization is to continue to conserve and enhance the pioneering of the party, build a transparent and strong party in politics, ideology, moral quality, organization, personnel, leadership model, among others.
The party chief also urged to fight against individualism, degradation of political ideology, bureaucracy and corruption within the party.
Vietnamese people, following the example of Ho Chi Minh, vow for being absolutely loyal to the interests of the nation and consistent to the idea of national independence associated with socialism on the basis of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh ideology, Trong added.
The ceremony, drawing the participation of current and former Vietnamese leaders as well as foreign embassies and organizations in Hanoi, was part of series of activities being held nationwide to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh.
Born on May 19, 1890, Ho Chi Minh was a Vietnamese communist revolutionary leader and served as Prime Minister of Vietnam and President. He passed away in September 1969. Endi
