Xi congratulates Peter Christian on election as Micronesian president

Chinese President Xi Jinping has extended congratulations to Peter M. Christian on his election as Micronesian president.

In a message dated Tuesday, Xi said that over the past 26 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Micronesia, great progress has been made in the development of relations between the two countries.

"I attach great importance to the development of China-Micronesia relations, and stand ready to work together with you to promote China-Micronesia relations toward achievement of new progress on a continued basis, so as to bring greater benefits to the two countries and the two peoples," Xi said.
