Bulgarian association urges companies to jointly export goods to China

Xinhua, May 14, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) here on Wednesday urged companies from the country and the Balkan region to join hands to export goods to China.

BCCI's president Tsvetan Simeonov said individual Bulgarian producers have not been able to satisfy requests of Chinese importers in terms of quantities of goods, addressing a seminar on trading with China.

This problem could be solved if Bulgarian producers that want to export goods to China join forces, Simeonov said.

For example, if wine exporters from the Balkan region sell under a common "hat", the Balkans would become the fifth largest wine exporter in the world after Italy, France, the United States and Spain.

Therefore, BCCI would work to unite efforts in Bulgaria, while its representatives in China would assist companies wishing to sell there, regardless of their potential, Simeonov said.

Latchezar Dinev, BCCI representative to China and chairman of the Bulgarian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said if Bulgarian companies work united, they will have many more pluses than negatives.

He said the attitude of customers in China was completely different when companies participate jointly under the label Bulgaria, than to independent players.

In 2014, China was Bulgaria's third largest export and import partner outside the European Union. Endit
