The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) on Wednesday has successfully disposed a war relic near Tampines which was found earlier the same day, the Singapore Army said in a Facebook post.

The war relic, which was a fused and fired Illumination mortar round, was discovered at a construction site near Tampines. "Due to the danger posed", SAF's Explosive Ordnance Disposal standby team decided to dispose it on site and by evening, the relic has been successfully detonated.

Two empty World War II bomb cases were also found near Tampines last year, Channel News said. Endi
