The company chose Rodriguez as "the new official face of the Premium line of mobile devices", according to the company, as the footballer was idolized by Colombian football fans as the represent of the dedication, the determination and the ability that Colombians have to make their dreams come true.

"Rodriguez will help Huawei to attract more consumers and we look to the future with optimism and determination," said Maria Fernanda Chinchilla, Director of Terminals Marketing in Huawei's Colombian company.
