Cuba forms team for a friendly match against U.S.

The Cuban Wrestling Federation announced on Thursday the members of the men's and women's national team (free style and greco-roman), which will face their United States peers May 21 in New York.

Livan Lopez, bronze medalist from London 2012 for 74kg and Reineris Salas, World double subtitle in the 86kg, lead this strong team in freetyle category.

The roster also features Yowlis Bonne (57 kg) and Javier Cortina (97 kg), bronze winners in the most recent tournament Tashkent-2014, as well as Franklin Maren (65kg), Esteban Quintana (74kg) and Andres Ramos (125 kg).

National team coach, Julio Mendieta, highlighted that "it will be an interesting competition, against one of the most powerful teams in the World."

The roster of the classic category includes Maikel Anache (59kg) and Yurisandy Hernandez (75kg) while the women's list is made up of Yusnely Guzman (48kg), Yamilka del Valle (53kg), Jaquelin Stornell (58kg) and Yudaris Sanchez (69kg).

The friendly match Cuba-U.S. will work as preparation for both countries before the 17th edition of Panamerican Games, which will take place in Toronto, Canada between the 10th and 26th of July. Endi
