Urgent: Obama nominates Joseph Dunford as new Joint Chiefs Chairman of U.S.

U.S. President Barack Obama on Tuesday nominated Marine General Joseph Dunford to be the country' s next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, replacing General Martin Dempsey.

Obama's nomination still needs the approval of the Senate. If confirmed by the Senate, the Dunford, 59, would become Obama's chief military adviser. Endite
