Thailand bombards Laos 12-0 at AFF Woman's Championship

Thailand thrashed underdogs Laos 12-0 here Tuesday, with 7 goals scored in the first half, booking a berth to semifinals of the 2015 AFF Women's Championship.

Thai speedy striker Alisa Rukpinij formed a hat-trick in the first half -- in the 8th, 28th and 41st minute. With two more goals in the 65th and 74th minute, the 20-year-old striker made a rocket in the Group A match. Many goals came from her fury close-range shots that mostly left the Laotian goalkeeper stunned.

In the first half, another Thai striker Nisa Romyen also made a hat-trick, including one goal from her direct free kick. Meanwhile, Laotian players hardly crossed the mid-field due to continuous strong pressure from their Thai rivals.

Four other goals were credited to Myanmar mid-fielder Wilaiporn Boothduang who scored a goal in the 34th minute, striker Taneekarn Dangda in the 78th minute, and striker Orathai Srimanee who netted twice in the 70th and 79th minute.

After two wins at the tournament, Thailand currently tops Group A, winning a seat in semifinals.

Eight teams, including Thailand, visiting Australia U-20, Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia and the Philippines are competing at the tournament which lasts till May 10. Endi
