Xinhua, May 5, 2015 Adjust font size:

Australia U-20 and Indonesia sometimes had a tug-of-war in Group A match of the 2015 AFF Women's Championship here on Tuesday evening, but the final score was 7-0 in favor of Australia.

Indonesian players created a thick layer of defense before their goal line, while their rivals made every effort to break through it. Ten minutes into the game, Australian Jordan Baker strongly drove the ball to the underside of the crossbar, paving the way for 6 subsequent goals, including 4 before the break.

In the 29th minute, 3 minutes after Australian 15-year-old striker Princess Ibini-Isei extended the lead to 2-0, Baker made her double in the game. Australian 17-year-old striker Emily Condon scored the fourth goal in the 32nd minute, and her 16-year-old teammate Alexandra Chidiac netted in the 43rd minute.

Eleven minutes into the second half, Australian mid-fielder Olivia Price widened the lead to 6-0. And 4 minutes later, Condon secured a double in the game, fixing the final victory of 7-0 for her squad.

With the lopsided triumph, Australia U-20 has topped Group A which also consists of Thailand and Laos.

On Wednesday, Myanmar will take on Malaysia, and the Philippines will clash with hosts Vietnam.

The 2015 AFF Women's Championship lasts from May 1-10, with the participation of eight teams. Endi
