Lao stock market closes 2.21 pct higher

The Lao stock market finished on Tuesday up 2.21 percent against the previous trading day.

The Lao Securities Exchange composite index increased by 31.62 points to 1,462.19. A total of 60,808 shares worth about 438 million Lao kip (about 54,000 U.S. dollars) changed hands at the stock market.

There are four companies listed at the Lao stock market. Petroleum Trading Lao Public Company (PTL) shares unchanged at 3, 800 Lao kip (about 47 U.S.cents). Lao World Public Company (LWPC) had no trade. Laos' largest commercial bank Banque Pour Le Commerce Exterieur Lao (BCEL) unchanged at 6,700 Lao kip (about 84 U.S.cents). Shares of state-run energy giant Electricite du Laos Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen) rose by 2.74 percent to 7,500 Lao kip (about 93 U.S.cents). Endi
