Senior CPC official meets UAE leaders on bilateral ties

Senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Zhao Leji discussed bilateral ties with leaders of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during his visit to the country on May 2-5.

Zhao, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, met respectively with the UAE Vice President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, who is also Dubai ruler and the UAE prime minister, and Abu Dhabi crown prince and the UAE deputy supreme commander Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed.

Zhao, also head of the CPC Central Committee Organization Department, said the two countries have always respected, trusted and supported each other since the establishment of the diplomatic relations 30 years ago.

Over the past few years, the bilateral ties between the two countries witnessed comprehensive, fast development, and steady cooperation in various fields, Zhao said.

China takes the UAE as a good brother and partner, and is willing to enrich the connotation of the strategic partnership with the Arab country, Zhao said, elaborating on the strategic layout of the "Four Comprehensives" and the Belt and Road Initiatives.

The UAE leaders said UAE-China cooperation, in which the fundamental interests of the two countries and two peoples lie, will further expand and deepen and is conducive to safeguarding the peace and stability in the region and the world at large.

The UAE is ready to strengthen cooperation with China in jointly undertaking the Belt and Road Initiatives to achieve common development, they said, hoping China will realize the "Chinese dream" of national rejuvenation. Endi
