Death toll from Nepal quake soars to 7,557

Death toll from April 25 Nepal quake and aftershocks reached 7,557 and the number of injuries rose to 1,4536, the Ministry of Home affairs said on Tuesday.

As many as 10,718 government building were destroyed in the massive earthquake while 14,741 sustained partial damages. About 191,058 civilian houses have been flattened and 175,162 were partially devastated.

The district hit worst in the quake is Sindhupalchowk which recorded 2,911 causalities while Kathmandu witnessed 1,202 and Nuwakot 904, the ministry said. Endi
