7 killed in road mishap in western India

At least seven people were killed and another person sustained serious injuries in a road mishap in the western Indian state of Rajasthan Monday, a senior police official said.

"The mishap happened when a vehicle in which the victims were traveling fell into a drain on Bapawar-Sangod road after the driver lost control of the vehicle," he said on condition of anonymity.

While seven people were killed on the spot, the injured person has been admitted to a local hospital where his condition is said to be serious, the official said.

A probe has been ordered into the incident, he added. Endi
