World No. 1 Ma Long from China beat 14th-ranked teammate Fang Bo 4-2 (11-7, 7-11, 11-4, 11-8, 11-13, 11-4) to win the men's singles title at the world table tennis championships on Sunday.

The 23-year-old Fang, who stunned twice defending champion Zhang Jike in the semis, put up a tough fight as he pulled himself from 2-6 down to win the fifth set but lost composure in the sixth.
