Nigeria's National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has sent a team to northeast city of Yola, the Adamawa capital, to receive the 293 women and girls rescued by Nigerian soldiers from Boko Haram camps in Sambisa forest.
The army authorities on Tuesday confirmed the rescue of the women and girls.
State spokesperson for the agency Sani Datti said in a statement reaching Xinhua on Sunday that the military had informed the agency that the victims, with the support of armed personnel, were on their way to Yola.
Datti also said the agency had put all necessary arrangements in place to provide a camp for the victims. Endi
