Four persons rescued alive on 9th day of quake in Nepal

Four persons, including a 105-year- old woman, were rescued alive from the debris of collapsed buildings in Nepal on Sunday, the 9th day since a massive earthquake hit the Himalayan country.

Fanchu Ghale, the old woman, was rescued alive from the debris of her own home at Kimtang village of Nuwakot district, central Nepal, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajay Chhatkuli of the Armed Police Force.

"Three persons have been rescued alive from Sindhupalchowk and one person from Nuwakot district," he told Xinhua over phone.

The old lady was rescued by members of the Nepal Police and a Japanese rescue team, while the three others were rescued in Syaule-8, Sindhupalchowk, by the Armed Police Force rescue team, he said. Endi
