Nigerian military hands over 275 rescued persons for rehabilitation

The Nigerian military has handed over 275 women and children rescued from the terrorists' stronghold to officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for rehabilitation, an officer said on Sunday.

Col. Aba Popoola, the acting commander of the 23 Armored Brigade in northeast state of Adamawa, told reporters in Yola, that the army had no facilities to take care of the women and children rescued from Boko Haram's camps in Sambisa forest.

Popoola urged the Nigerian agency to take adequate care of these victims of terror. He said most of the rescued persons had sustained various degrees of injuries, including fractures and dislocations.

Earlier, the NEMA team led by Air Commodore Charles Otegbade, promised that the agency would adequately take care of the rescued internally displaced peoples.

He commended the Nigerian Army for having rescued a large number of abducted persons from the Boko Haram's camps in Sambisa forest. Endi
