Ding wins women's singles crown at 2015 TT worlds

World No. 1 Ding Ning beat second-ranked fellow Chinese Liu Shiwen 4-3 to win the women's singles title at the world table tennis championships on Saturday.

Ding, the 2011 champion, sprained her right ankle while 0-2 down in the deciding set, and returned after 15 minutes of medical attention to win the match 7-11, 15-13, 11-7, 11-9, 9-11, 4-11, 11-8.

Chinese Mu Zi and Li Xiaoxia finished joint third. Endi
