Police investigate "slapping therapy" death in Sydney

Xinhua, May 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

Australian police are investigating the death of a young diabetic boy who was given so-called " slapping therapy" to cure him of his illness.

His parents took him to a clinic run by Chinese therapist Hongchi Xiao, who advocates the use of slapping therapy to cure illnesses and rid the body of poisons.

The week-long therapy cost 1,800 Australian dollars (1,420 U.S. dollars), but the seven year old boy died in the process.

News Corporation reported on Friday that detectives are investigating whether the boy, Aidan Fenton, was taken off his insulin before his death.

Xiao left Australia after being questioned by police. Endi
