Tokyo shares end lower by break

Tokyo shares ended the morning session lower on Friday, as investors tended to cash in recent gains ahead of Golden Week holiday.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 48.51 points, or 0.25 percent, from Thursday to 19,471.50.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 12.40 points, or 0.78 percent, to 1, 580.39. Endi
