Death toll soars to 6,204 in Nepal earthquake

The death toll from a powerful earthquake in Nepal climbed to 6,204 and a total of 13,932 others were injured, the Home Ministry said on Friday.

Sindhupalchowk is the worst-hit district with 1,820 people killed after the 7.9-magnitude quake hit Nepal on Apirl 25, according to the National Emergency Operation Center under the ministry.

Some 148,329 houses were destroyed and 136,582 were damaged, said the Nepal Police Headquarters. Endi
