French stock market index up 0.14 pct on Thursday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 closed with an advance of 0.14 percent at 5,046.49 points on Thursday, up 7.1 points.

Investors are encouraged by the assuring employment and consumption indicators published today in the U.S.. After two consecutive days of decrease, the CAC 40 closed slightly higher on Thursday with 25 of the 40 selected companies gaining advance.

The three companies that gained most on Thursday were Lafarge, up 3.80 percent, Peugeot, up 3.24 percent, and Schneider Electric, up 2.89 percent.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Thursday were Alcatel-Lucent, down 9.66 percent, Kering, down 2.62 percent, and BNP Paribas, down 1.59 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with a decrease of 2.59 percent percent at 5,039.39 points, down 133.99 points. Endit
