Casillas prefers to win the Champions League over la Liga title

Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas said on Thursday he would rather his side retained the Champions League than win the Spanish BBVA Primera Liga.

Real Madrid, who won the Champions League last season, will face Juventus in the semi-finals, while Barca face Bayern Munich in the other semi.

Meanwhile Real trail the Catalans by 2 points in the Spanish League and need their rivals to slip up once in the remaining four games if they are to have a chance of lifting the title as well.

"The coach (Carlo Ancelotti) has already pointed out that the Champions League is easier to win. The Champions League is still in our hands whilst the league title is currently in Bar?a's hands," said Casillas at a publicity event.

"The last four teams remaining in the Champions League all have a 25% chance of winning. Traditionally Madrid fans prefer European competition and winning the highest honor in European for the second year running would be special as it's never been done before," he said.

The goalkeeper said he was expecting a difficult semi-final, but added that Saturday's league trip away to face a Sevilla side that is unbeaten in over 30 home matches would not be easy.

"We need to beat Sevilla .. It's going to be a tough game as all games are at this point of the season," he concluded. Endite
