Kenya Rugby Sevens head coach Felix Ochieng is keen to move from relegation zone towards safety in the final two legs of the International Rugby Board (IRB) World Series in Glasgow and London in May.
Speaking on Thursday after naming his final 11-meber team to the event, which will be held on May 9-10 in Glasgow, Ochieng said he must get more points to maintain the country's core status in the elite rugby sevens competition.
"As we move on to Glasgow, we have taken some time to review in detail the moments and opportunities created by our structures and how we can ensure we maximize on our returns on the score board," he said in Nairobi.
Kenya, which has been struggling this season, is pooled alongside current series leaders South Africa, third-ranked New Zealand and Samoa in Group B at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow. Andrew Amonde will captain the team.
"At this level it is all about millimeters and microseconds that differentiate where you end up playing as witnessed in Hong Kong. As a squad we have pulled together, learnt from it, picked ourselves up very quickly, fully aware that despite the results we are capable of giving ourselves better chances of succeeding within the four lines," said Ochieng.
"We are looking to get all our players reaching their potential while contributing to key outcomes and positive results," he added.
Kenya are currently in position 13 in the series standings with two rounds remaining. The top four, along with hosts Brazil, will qualify automatically for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Kenya, which is headed to finish outside the top four spots, will have to negotiate the Africa regional qualifying tournament or global event to qualify for the Olympics. Endi
