SIPG defeats Lifan 2-1 to lead in CSL table

Dario Leonardo Conca's assist helped Shanghai SIPG earn a 2-1 victory against Chongqing Lifan in a 6th round game of the Chinese Super League played on Sunday. SIPG retook the top position on the CSL standings.

In the 16th minute, when faced an empty net, Tobias Hysen's shot was wide. But the Swede made up the regret eight minutes later, as his flip shot broke the deadlock following Jean Evrard Kouassi's penetrating pass.

Issam El Adoua scored the equalizer for Chongqing in the 41st minute, Lifan caught a corner kick chance, Adrian Leijer's header contributed to Adoua's goal.

Conca tried to restore the lead for SIPG, using his wonderful controlling and passing skills. But his teammates were restrained by Chongqing's five-defender formation.

In the 87th minute, SIPG took the lead again thanks to Kouassi's powerful header which sealed the 2-1 scoreline. Conca sent the assist through a free kick chance.

In Zhengzhou, Henan Jianye defeated Shanghai Greenland 2-1 and climbed to the 4th position on the league standings.

It was Javier Patino who opened the scoring after 140 seconds, and Yin Hongbo finished a classic counterattack in the 36th minute.

Although Greenland narrowed the gap to 2-1 with a free kick opportunity, Henan kept their advantage till the end. Endi
